THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLUE!
I came up with this sticker after the
disappointing 2004 election. I was feeling extra ambitious. This design is one
of the most complex I have attempted. I was up half the night working with
Photoshop to combine the various visual elements.
The
final design features Bush advisor Karl Rove lurking in the background. Rove has
been called "Bush's Brain" and has been the subject of a book
and a documentary
of the same name.
I had hoped to place Emperor Bush
on the USS Abraham Lincoln with the "Mission Accomplished" banner in
the background. But good photos of the Lincoln with the banner are hard to come
by, no doubt thanks to suppression by the White House.
One
early version of this sticker had Bush standing in front of a crowd and a
military band. But that design seemed too cluttered, especially on a bumper
sticker.
I want to thank my father-in-law
for allowing me to borrow his shoulders and neck for this image. Ironically, the
crown and cross has been borrowed from a photo of a French cathedral. In the
original photo, the crown appears to be 20 to 30-feet across, and the cross is
maybe 10 to 15-feet tall. The purple velvet was snipped from a cheesy crown
advertised on e-bay.
